Tried ts-menu and got Invalid command. ---:-/ cli-> ts_menu Error: Invalid command: ts_menu. I am using putty "ssh" to connect to ACS6000

The ts_menu is not available from the cli. You need to be at the shell, in this case the prompt is #. Example: [root@ZeroTouch ~]# ts_menu Serial Console Server Connection Menu for your Master Terminal Server 1 15-ac-ab-p-1 2 Test 3 15-ac-ab-p-3 4 Cisco2960

How did you configure your keyboard settings? I have not seen this problem with any DSR unit or keyboard combination I've used so far; but I don't encrypt the keyboard data or do anything "odd". If your keyboard is old, possibly it's the keyboard rather than the DSR that is the source of the problem.

Try to run IE by clicking 'Run as administrator', to give max privilege for installing Add-on

Ok, more info. While it took longer, even if the debug msg is set, the unit eventually did the same thing. So far, I've changed out the keyboard, the DSRIQ module, and the ethernet patch cable, with no significant change. Only "original" directly connected parts are the monitor and the mouse. I also tried changing the keyboard type to "Unix", and setting ICMP ping and SNMP to disable; and enabled video noise compensation. Just on the odd chance this was happening due to some sort of "hacking" attack, I also set the gateway IP to some bogus value to keep any "outside" folks out of it. Still no luck. Now I've got the unit basically "stand alone" - only the console and network ports are connected to anything - to see what happens this way. I still think it's strange, though, that I never saw this type of behavior *until* I upgraded the 1021 and the 8020 to 3.7.1.23. I can't really remember where the 1021 was, but the 8020 was significantly downrev'd. I had to do at least 2 intermediate upgrades before I could load 3.7.1.23. Unfortunately, I can't seem to take them back below 3.7.1.9. And even there the problem still occurs.

The ability to schedule a task to control power to target devices is avialable via DSview4 Management Software

Found this solution for a different brand KVM and it worked for Autoviews. Edit the Java.security file found \Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_65\lib\security Looks like java new default is rejects key sizes less than 768. remove this setting and you can get into the KVM's. # jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3, RC4, DH keySize < 768 jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3, RC4

Forum Post: Multiple output monitors with SV240D Desktop KVM using MST hub

Hi, I have two laptops with DisplayPort version 1.2 that I want as the input to this KVM. I want to output to two 2560 x 1440 @60Hz and one 1920x1200 @60Hz monitors using the Windows "Extended" desktop feature (aka: independent display output). Currently I connect the MST hub to the laptop and get independent displays output on each monitor, therefore, I conclude, the laptop GPU's support MST+HBR2. Would a Multi Stream Transport (MST) hub (such as StarTech MSTMDP123DP ), connected to the output / console DP achieve this? From reading Wikipedia and the blurb on the StarTech MST hub, if my understanding is correct, to support multiple monitors, I need DisplayPort 1.2 where MST is supported by way of an MST hub. In addition, I also need to consider the total video signal bandwidth consumed by all monitors. This calculation is complex, however, using this bandwidth calculator, my monitors consume: 2560x1440 @ 30Hz = 5.97Gbps x2 1920x1200 @ 30Hz = 3.79Gbps x1 Total = 15.73Gbps As the SV240D is DP1.2, 4K, I assume the total bandwidth capability is 17.28Gbps. Assuming a refresh rate of 30Hz I should be OK in this regard. The StarTech MST hub shares a total bandwidth of 21.6Gbps across all monitors. They provide a table with average resolution bandwidth. This table insinuates a resolution of 2560x1440 @ 60Hz uses 35% and 1920x1200 @ 60Hz uses 30% of the 21.6Gbps. My calculations suggest 55% and 35% @ 60Hz! However, assuming the 30Hz maximum, again, I should be OK. I have drawn up the following diagram to illustrate my goal: If anyone can shed light on whether the SSV240D can or why in cannot output to multiple displays with the MST hub I should most grateful. Thanks W.

One AVRIQ-USB module failed lately and was replaced with AVRIQ-USB2. The issue came up. The resolution of the module output was forced to 1920x1200 which can’t be displayed via current LCD monitor. May I ask if there is any way to change it? thanks.

Forum Post: Writing a Script for Avocent Serial Console Configuration

Hi All, This is my first post on this forum. I'm a data center tech with very limited knowledge of scripting and Avocent CLI. I sometimes have to configure ACS 6048 console servers for various deployments at work. I don't do this based on my own knowledge and expertise, but based on a word doc which explains the process, step by step. All I have to do is to follow directions correctly. I'd like to find a way to automate this process since it is the same series of steps every time. Some information does change like IP addresses, etc., and the firmware updates change from time to time, but I also use the web GUI to change a bunch of settings also and I'm thinking this portion of the configuration can be scripted. I'm taking an intro to Linux class right now and we've just started to talk about scripting. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be most appreciative. Best Regards, okubow

Hello i am trying to set up ZTP for the avocent cyclades using Xml configuration file. I have exported the xml configuration file from the web view , saved it to a TFTP server and enabled ZTP by using the DHCP server. The device is correctly fetching the setup file and the xml configuration file, but after I log in it displays an error message as below -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Error: Failed to parse: no Controls section in XML document ACS6000 3.1.0.8-20150311 xxxxxxxxxxxx /dev/ttyS0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to know what is going wrong here. the xml file is the same exact xml file which was saved from the web. How do I debug the issue and find out what is going wrong here ?
