The Logitech G5 is a Gaming / Multimedia mouse and unfortunately these mice are not supported by this switch. Please connect a regular two button USB mouse. Your second issue is that your using a DVI to VGA adapter which might not be supported. Avocent sells DVI to VGA adapters and they are listed below:
