Forum Post: RE: Avocent AutoView 3016 "Network connect error" using KVM over IP. RESOLVED!
I agree resolved but I believe Emerson/Avocent should fix because so many other tools and app require the very latest Java to work properly.

Forum Post: How to test TCP ports on ACS48
Hi, We have a lot of ACS48 console servers with many devices attached. It has got a bit out of hand over the years and we have lost track of what is connected to what. As systems have been decommissioned but not removed from the device names on the ports. Is there a quick way to check if the ports have anything connected to them without ssh'ing to each individual port or going down to the data centre? we use dsview 4 to manage them.

Forum Post: RE: How to test TCP ports on ACS48
Hello Adam; If you navigate to the appliance thru DSView you can look at each port to see if there are "signals" present on the "Ports" page. If there are no signals present that port may not have anything conencted to it. V/R Danny

Forum Post: RE: How to test TCP ports on ACS48
Hi Danny, thanks for the quick reply, but I cant find that signal column. Are you talking about the ports page from selecting the console server, Appliance settings drop down, ports? I only have columns for: port, appliance name, port status, type, baud, data bits... is there some way I can add a signal column? im using DSview 4.1.0.54

Forum Post: RE: How to test TCP ports on ACS48
Hello Adam; in DSView select the appliance in question. Once that it in your DSView window, look over at the left column and then select "Ports adn then serial ports" and the page should have a column headed as "Signals" V/R Danny

yea, that's where I am looking. Its not there. Must either have to enable it or its a feature of a newer dsview version. thanks Adam

Forum Post: Cannot access DSView webpage due to bad web Cert
I updated DSView with a cert that may have been in the wrong format. We just rebooted the server and now the webpage will not load in my browser due to a cert error. Does anyone know of a way to update the cert without the GUI? or A way to get my web browser to not care about the validity of the cert being used? This is the error I get in firefox. "A PKCS #11 module returned CKR_DEVICE_ERROR, indicating that a problem has occurred with the token or slot. (Error code: sec_error_pkcs11_device_error)"

I've installed the latest 2.1.0.23 firmware for the PM 3000 in the hope of patching the long running POODLE vulnerability. After installing the firmware and running a well known commercial vulnerability scanner against it, the device is now showing more vulnerabilities than before such as Apache multiple vulns, OpenSSL < 1.0.1n, SSH vulns, Logjam, FREAK and BEAST. All vulnerabilities are medium to high risk. Has anyone else seen this?

Forum Post: ecs17kmm-001 - display power supply issues
Is there any known issues with the power supplies for the ecs17kmm-001 (liteon 12v/5a)??? I have 5 racks, each with a ecs17kmm-001 and i have lost 3 displays over the last 3 months (flashing red/grn LED). Units are not even 9mo old yet. Theres no power problems in my data center that i know of- everything is on uninterruptible sources. The kvm itself seems to be ok because i can hook up a stand-alone monitor to it and the unit works. Are these PSU's replaceable?? thanks
